Aputure Amaran AHL-HC100 LED Ring Light
Hypop Official Review
Here at Hypop, we pride ourselves on our selection of quality brands. The Aputure Amaran range is an affordable yet professional step into the world of video lighting. Today we’re reviewing the new Aputure Amaran AHL HC100 LED ring light.
The Aputure AHL-HC100 LED ring light is compact, light and features a streamlined design. What’s in the box? The ring light comes with multiple ring adaptors (49mm, 52mm, 55mm, 58mm, 62mm, 67mm, 72mm, 77mm) which ensure you are able to mount it on a variety of different Canon or Nikon lenses (depending on the model you purchase). The unit itself features a control wheel and a 2 x AA battery power supply system.
The ring light consists of 100 bright LED’s that feature the new colour rendering index (CRI 95+) technology, allowing you true to colour shooting. In continuous lighting mode, you can adjust the brightness via the control wheel. You can achieve brightness up to 1020 LUX at 0.5 metres with a steady colour temperature of 5500K. After testing, we have found that the right light can illuminate subjects upto 1.7 metres away – a great range! Another plus is the flicker free output, great for filming up close.
The Aputure AHL-HC100 right light can also be used in flash mode, which approximately doubles the power of the LED’s. In manual mode you, set you camera to 1/200 and then chance your aperture and ISO to suit whatever you are shooting. Perfect for all macro photographers!
With its simplicity, user friendly and light weight design, you will find that the affordable price is just the icing on the cake. We highly recommend the Aputure Amaran ring light range to any budding macro photographer, be it a hobbyist or professional – it will not disappoint.
